  18. A Conner DDS-2 DAT works well with my Warp Engine SCSI and BTNtape/tar 
  19. for software.  Backup speeds are 17-25M per minute, depending on 
  20. software.  (Important note: Amiback doesn't work with this drive, or at

  25. Nope.  When you use a new, completely blank tape, the first time the 
  26. drive sees it, it will write a header block on it.  This takes only a few 
  27. seconds.  After that, the tape is ready to go.

  29. DAT is expensive for the drives (usually), but cheap for tapes.  I've been
  30. happy with this one, using it for backup of the Amiga, and
  31. Emplant-emulated Mac, and an MS-DOS system.  If you setup tar and BTN
  32. correctly, they can even read each other's tapes.
